Emerging composer Elliott James-Ginn Encarnación is a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where he studied composition with J. Mark Stambaugh and the late Conrad Susa, respectively, as well as conducting with David Gilbert and Kristina Boerger. His repertoire includes numerous sacred choral works, oratorio and opera. Elliott co-founded Prodigal Opera Productions in 2013, a theatre group dedicated to fostering the development of new opera and other musical dramas, serving as artistic director. In 2016, he was named composer-in-residence for the International Orange Chorale, and musical director of the Opera Theater Unlimited. Elliott is an instructor of music theory, musical theatre and opera, and has appeared as a tenor soloist in numerous Bay Area institutions, including the San Francisco Symphony and the California Bach Society.
